Working With Lifetime Learners

All Lifetime Learners tutors:

• Must be passionate about education
• Must be patient to maximize the learning potential of children and adults of all levels and abilities.
• Must be reliable, punctual, able to work wtihout supervision and have excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in Standard Australian English (Spoken & Written)
• Must have the right to reside and work in Australia to be considered for a position.
• Must meet Working With Children Check requirements in their State or Territory
• Must be able to commit to at least 4 hours per week, if required, during school terms.
• Must be available during our normal business hours: Mon to Fri: 9:00am to 8:30pm; Sat: 9:00am to 12:30pm
• Must be available for Sunday & school holiday work if required.

If you are one of our private home tutors:

You must have your own transport & a current driver's licence issued in your home State or Territory

You must be willing to travel up to 15 kilometres to students' homes outside school hours.

Teachers wishing to tutor with Lifetime Learners MUST meet All our general criteria, plus the following:

• An Australian recognised degree in Education or Teaching.
• If applicable, an Australian recognized degree in a field appropriate to their subject specialization in addition to the above.
• Current registration as a teacher in their State or Territory.
• Current or recent practice in an Australian school setting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of State or Territory school curriculua in their area(s) of specialization.
• Candidates who do not meet these criteria should visit the tabs for Trainee Teachers,University Graduates and Students.

Trainee Teachers wishing to tutor with Lifetime Learners MUST meet All our general criteria, plus the following:

• Current enrolment in a recognized teacher training program at an Australian University.
• If enrolled in a Graduate program, possession of an Australian recognized degree in a field appropriate to their subject specialization.
• Demonstrated excellent university results, including practicum reports.
• Candidates who do not meet these criteria should visit the tabs for University Graduates and Students.

University graduates wishing to tutor with Lifetime Learners MUST meet All our general criteria, plus the following:

• A degree from an Australian University or
• Other qualifications recognized in Australia as equivalent to the above
• Demonstrated excellent university results
• Demonstrated ability to tutor Maths or English to year 12/VCE/HSC level.
• (Additional subjects, for example Physics, Chemistry,Biology, History, Economics, Business Studies, will be well considered.)
• Current or recent practice in a professional field will be well regarded
• Previous tutoring experience will be well regarded.
• Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate knowledge of the Australian school system.

University students wishing to tutor with Lifetime Learners MUST meet All our general criteria, plus the following:

• UAI/ENTER score of 90 or above, or an OP between 1-6
• Currently enrolment in 2nd year or above
• Demonstrated excellent university results
• Demonstrated ability to tutor Maths or English to year 12/VCE/HSC level.
• (Additional subjects, for example Physics, Chemistry,Biology, History, Economics, Business Studies, will be well considered.)
• Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate knowledge of the Australian school system.
• Previous tutoring experience will be well regarded.
