Lifetime Learners' tutors come from a range of professional backgrounds and academic disciplines. While we have a clear preference for applicants who are Teachers - Practicing teachers, retired teachers or trainee teachers - we also accept applications from skilled professionals (Professional Tutors) in a wide variety of fields and from University students and recent graduates (Standard Tutors) with excellent results where these people have skills in particular subject areas.
Our tutors are expected to hold or be currently studying towards academic qualifications of at least Bachelors level with excellent academic records in the field in which they are tutoring. Information about the minimum qualifications that you can expect from tutors at each of our levels can be found on this page.
As a matter of policy, in fairness to our clients and our tutors, we do not place tutors outside their field of expertise.
In addition to formal academic qualifications, all Lifetime Learners tutors are expected to demonstrate their ability to meet rigorous English Proficiency Standards. The standards we require are the same as those required for applicants for teacher registration in all Australian States and Territories.
